• Pretest: Did the following exercises in the Langan text: 429, 444 review test 3, 453 review test 1, 458 review test 2, 468-469 review test 2, 475, 507-508 review test, 515 review test 1.
  
• Received copy of Course syllabus/outline and discuss.
  
• Received copies of Langan and Clouse books
• Discussed the four goals of effective writing.
• Received copy of wikipedia article about your high school.

• Read wikipedia article about your high school.
  
• Write a one-page (about 250 words) summary of the wikipedia article about your school. Refer to Langan 349-350 for guidance. Type. Double-space.
  
• Look through 432-444 in Langan and 126-128 in Clouse. Write two run-on sentences of your own. Don't copy examples from the book.
• Look through 418-431 in Langan and 121-125 in Clouse. Write a paragraph (topic of your choice) of 5 to 6 sentences. Two of the "sentences" should be fragments.
